Oww problem with treatment please help?I started an acne treatment called Aknemycin about 3 weeks ago and since then my face has got REALLY red and has begun peeling around the mouth. I know its a well known fact that skin usually gets worse before it gets better during treatment but this seems different – my acne itself has remained pretty much the same. Its just the red sore peeling skin around my mouth thats causing the trouble. I struggle to open my mouth to eat 'cus it's that sore!
I just cant cope any longer with it. So yesterday I stopped using it. Im pretty confident my skin will return to normal within a few days but until then it would be really useful to have some tips on anything that mite ease the pain! PLEASE. Home remedies would be really useful cus its so hard to cope with at the moment. At least before the treatment my skin/face didnt hurt.
Thanks in advance for all suggestions
You can but a cleaner and moisturizer designed for sensitive skin such as spectro gel. You most likely had an allergic reaction to the treatment, if you have a chance go see you doctor and pick up a proper ointment. You really don't want any further scarring or irritation.
Even if you call your Doctor and explain the situation he or she may be able to give you an idea of where to go.
Good luck.References :
Try an oatmeal pack, it will help mouisturize your skin. All you have to do, is make some plain oatmeal, maybe mix some honey into it for extra relief. I do this all the time, it feels great. Just put it on your face, while its still warm, for about 15 minutes or till it dries. And then rinse your face off.
Also try, putting so winter mouisturizer on the troubled spots
If the ideas that, I and fellow answerer's dont help, call your doctor and scheduale an appointment, they can prescribe creams, and medication to help with the pain and redness.
You could also try calling your doctor, and just asking her for a few home remedies that might help.
hope this helps.

Sounds like it is burning your skin so to speak. You ned to go see the doc and find out what to do for this. Also be sure to report this to the company so they can know that you had a severe reaction to their product.References :

well i went through the same process as you ,
i had terrible acne well into my twenty's i got that fed up i went to the doctor, he sent me to the skin hospital and they took blood and did tests, they prescribed me roaccutane and my face went worse before it got better, my lips were so sore and cracked my arms ached and inside my nose cracked and bled, i did take the full course and it certainlt cleared me from acne and now 15 years on i have never had a spot, my skin dried up of sebum which is a grease based thing that we produce, and i am happy as anything now ,
good luck mateReferences :
Its good that u have stopped using it.
side effects may cause peeling but that normally happens within the first week of using the treatment not within 3 weeks and it should disappear not get worse…..go to your Dc and get advise on it and a different treatment.
but for the pain you could try using ice….put some ice into a tea towel and put it over the sore areas.
this will only temporally numb the pain
You should go to your local pharmacist and get a creme specially designed so burns and pain…its better to do this because your sores could get infected and can get worse and the creme will prevent this from happening…just speak with the pharmacist.
Take as much care as possible and don't take short cuts it will only bite u in the bum in the future.References :
First of all I empathise with you, I know how distressing this complaint can be.
So you have started your treatment about 3 weeks ago and your face is really red and peeling round your mouth. This is not suprising as this type of treatment does not suit everyone and your skin maybe more sensitive to the treatment than say other people. You were wise to stop the treatment and I would strongly suggest that you do not try any thing else just now until your skin has settled down.
If you are in distress due to the pain why not go to your doctor and see what he/she has to say. Meanwhile I would keep splashing your face in cooled boiled water and softly dab your face dry with clean dry towel. Try and get out into the fresh air as much as possible and change your pillowcase everyday, in case of infecting your peeling skin.
Though your skin is peeling just now if you eat a sensible diet full of green vegetables and fruit and also drink lots of filtered water each day. The peeling should stop and the overall appearance of you skin will improve, even if you have not got rid of the acne. And meantime to compact the soreness round your mouth apply a small amount of vaseline into the corners of your mouth to prevent further cracking.
Whilst my reply maynot provide you with an alternative treatment I think it is important for you to give your skin a chance to heal from the last lot of treament before embarking onsomething new.
And once your skin has settled down I'm sure your doctor will recommend a more suitable treatment.
I do hope you find a treatment that is right for you and I am sure that eventually you will find a solution to your acne problem. Also try not to get too upset as acne seems to thrive on stress.
All the best to you.References :
